2002: September to End-of-Year Last updated
At the beginning of October, the Cleveland weather started to deteriorate and flying opportunities became less frequent. There was a shuttle run taking Rob to Kettunen's to pick up his Tiger. He then followed me to G-Force where I left my SR22 and Rob took me home.
Getting my plane some 9 days later, I was grounded for six weeks due to weather and work. The great shame here was that I was to attend recurrent training with CPPP (Cirrus Pilots Proficiency Program) at (KEVV), but was unable to attend due to low IFR conditions (below my minimums!). When I did get back up in the air just before Thanksgiving, it was with a safety pilot to do some approaches to stay instrument current.
A couple of days after Thanksgiving, I again took my plane to G-Force for more SBs, installation of an Air/Oil separator, and the installation of a pre-heat system (winter was coming!). While my plane was at G-Force, I got to see it with the top down. | ![]() |

Again work and weather prevented me from getting my plane (snowstorms, icing conditions, low IFR, etc.). Finally I took it home on 24-December-2002. But that was the beginning of a 14 week hibernation - ugh! |
